Hope I Can Let it Go!
I uttered words that surprised me on the 231st day of 2021. In discussing a process for our project, I said "well, we cannot let perfection be the enemy of the good." This phrase, as hackneyed as it is, not only surprised me, but it made me realize I hope I can let it go. This is not just a work thing. My girls are getting older, I hope I can let go of my inclination to be overprotective and to worry. My family (CA and NJ) are discussing things we have to cull from our lives (material possessions) to declutter our physical spaces. Yes, there are things I hope I can let go. And watching the news (and the weather and sports) on 8/19/2021 there are a lot of things about which we can stress. But I hope I can let them go. I am not saying I should be protective of my family, I am not saying I should lower my standards at work, I will never want to purge all of my sentimental possessions, and I am not saying we should ignore the issues in our world (and locality, and the weather, and sports (well, we can ignore the Phillies, they are making me mad)). But I do have hopes that I can keep things in perspective and, when appropriate, Let It Go! I mean, the cold never bothered me anyway (but, DANG, this humidity is killing me!)
