Convocation Hopes
8/30/2021 is the eve of the first day of classes for Penn's Fall 2021 Semester. SO, that means on the palindromic 242nd day of 2021, Penn held Convocation. I love Convocation! It is my second favorite ceremony of the Academic Year (sorry, nothing beats Commencement!) According to Merriam Webster the definition of convocation is an assembly of persons called together to a meeting. And, tonight, we assembled 2,700+ people who all have Convocation Hopes. We're all hoping that we can continue to assemble in the classrooms, the labs, the playing fields, the dining halls, the libraries, the college houses, etc, etc, etc. We're all hoping that vaccination compliance and testing protocols keep the incidents of Covid to a minimum on campus. We're all hoping great things for the 21-22 academic year and it was great to start it off tonight with Convocation!
