Rain Out Hopes

It was humid in the evening of the 165th day of 2021.  But we made it to Somerdale on 6/14/2021, excited to play one of the last games of the SJGSA Softball Season.  But, alas, in the bottom of the first, lighting was spotted and the game was suspended.  After waiting for 20 minutes or so (and continuous observations of lightning), the game was called.  And we drive home and arrived in the driveway as the sky opened up and the rain came down in buckets.  Yes, tonight I have rain out hopes (not rainED out hopes).  Hoping that we can get these games rescheduled.  Not quite ready for my time with this Mustangs team to come to an end.  It has been a great five years and I want it to end with a bang of the thunder of bats hitting balls, not the thunder of a summer rain, ending our evening prematurely.
