Hope for Kids

As with many Spring Evenings, I spent the evening of the 120 day of 2021 at the Oaklyn Little League Snack Stand.  And, since it was a quiet evening (only one game), it was just me and Sarah at the Stand tonight.  So, since she wanted to cook, I spent most of my time at the counter window.  And, on 4/30/2021, I found myself having a lot of nice conversations with a bunch of nice kids from our town.  So, reflecting on these conversations, I have hope for kids tonight.  Kids both give me hope, as they are some of the purest souls on the planet, and I also have hope for kids, as this pandemic has taken so much from them in the last 16 months.  I sat at the stand and watched the practices on the baseball fields and the game on the softball field.  I listened to the laughter coming from the playground.  And I was glad that things are starting to open up, and kids are getting more opportunities.... and I hope this continues!
